Theresa Pfarr is an american painter born and raised in Ohio. She received her BFA from the University of Cincinnati, and continued on to study as a Post-Baccalaureate at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and Virginia Commonwealth University, where she earned her MFA. Fueled by an insatiable curiosity, she has traveled and lived all over the country, living and working on artist residencies in Vermont, Virginia, New Mexico, Nebraska, Wyoming, and California. Random pursuits include a short stint as a horse camping (glamping) trail chef in the Absaroka Mountains of Wyoming. She has finally settled in Philadelphia, where she paints, teaches art and lives with her husband and a dog named Sunny.
In her own words:
In my creative efforts I’m primarily a painter…..but have a compulsion to make everything. I’m often veering off my painting path to try to learn how to make something new, usually inspired by necessity, a great texture, color or what have you. My hands need to be busy or I’m just not in sync with the universe.
