Dario Puggioni is an Italian artist who was born in Brunei and attained his artistic training in Rome. He experiments with the surfaces and layers of different material by combining classical figure drawing and more modern techniques. He uses various reactive materials such as ink, enamel, acetic acid, oil on aluminum and copper. His work is characterised by veiled melancholy, dark tones and a ghostly aestheticism while his lonely silhouettes are oftenly represented in poses of great tension. Puggioni has won numerous international awards and he currently lives and works in Berlin, Germany.
