Inés Maestre is a visual artist from Spain, also known by the name in3stable. She studied Design, Fashion Design and Creative Direction and has been drawing from a very young age. Most of her work is made with a graphics tablet, though she is also experimenting with other techniques. Inés draws inspiration from life, people and smells while her visual references are photographers and painters that work with the concept of youth. Her work is abundant of adolescent faces. Her characters are usually thin redheads, with pale skin and freckles, protruding ears and cheekbones. Inés is in a constant search for faces that meet these traits, faces of people the lives of whom she likes to imagine. And while it is very important to her that her portraits have their own soul, Inés wants the viewers to draw their own conclusions about them. Her latest series “Prom”, is inspired by the phases that a person goes through over life while focused on a specific moment, that is captured almost photographically as if in camera stills. The characters in Prom leave these stills behind in order to go on with new moments on their journey.
