Benoit Paillé is a French-Canadian photographer from Montreal, Canada, who in 2009 left medical biology for the fine arts. While essentially a self taught photographer, his unique style made him quickly stand out. In 2010 he got his degree in Photography from the Concordia University in Quebec and by 2015, he was acclaimed as one of the 50 best emerging photographers by the LensCulture Emerging Talent Awards. His work has been exhibited in galleries worldwide and he has been featured in an impressive number of web publications. He often holds workshops about photography and art around the world and he collaborates with an advertising agency. His portfolio is diverse and extensive and his subjects range from people and portraiture, to nocturnal alternative landscapes and a very fluid almost surreal representation of reality. Benoit Paillé is travelling the world in his camper home.
In his own words:
I often see myself like an hyper realist painter, my pictures documenting an altered state of mind. Everybody can shoot a beautiful scenery or sunset, but I rather be a pataphysician, to apply myself to think about what others don’t.
