Fix Florida is a fantastic short animated film directed by Giant Ant for Costa Sunglasses environmental campaign which aims to bring attention to the need for increased water storage, treatment and conveyance south of Lake Okeechobee, the largest freshwater lake in the state of Florida. The film is based on a script by Jay Grandin & Cory Philpott, the art direction is by Eric Pautz and the voice over is by Flip Pallot.
At one time, Florida was a waterman’s paradise, pristine estuaries and healthy fish populations. Recent events have put three of Florida’s estuaries in an environmental turmoil, but these events are not new, they are sparked from over a half century of development, agriculture and water mismanagement.
People at Costa Sunglasses think it’s important to tell this story and work with interest groups to propose solutions and work on change. They believe we can work to reverse the damage, restore the Everglades and recharge Florida’s waters.
In their own words:
Water is our greatest asset. It’s our playground, the place that touches our soul, and it’s our job to protect it.
