Twinflower is a short mystery drama film written, directed, and edited by Jay Salbert, starring Sage Christensen and Ian Fay. The direction of photography is by Ryder Haske. It is the first short film in a series that’s currently in development and made in association with THE LOOKOUT DC, a video collective that operates like a co-working space for independent video professionals and boutique production companies.

Jay Salbert is an award-winning American filmmaker and photographer, originally from northern Virginia, based in Washington, DC. He has filmed and photographed projects around the world, his work has been viewed by millions and he has worked with Invisible Children editing and filming documentary shorts about those affected by Joseph Kony. Since 2013, he has been working as a freelance filmmaker and editor creating films for clients such as Facebook. When he’s not creating films for clients, Jay is usually dreaming up short film ideas to pursue in his free time. He is drawn towards honesty and simplicity and his work ranges from grounded documentaries to dreamlike fictional pieces. Twinflower premiered at The Howard Theatre on August 23rd as part of a series of local DC films.
