Anna Madia is an Italian painter born in Turin in 1976. She graduated from the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin in 2002. Artistically active in Italy and abroad, she has been selected as finalist at the Italian Factory Prize in 2004, at the Cairo Award in 2006, at the British Portrait Award of the National Portrait Gallery of London in 2007; she has won in 2008 the Renaissance Prize of the Italian Cultural Institut of London and La Fenice Prize of Venice. In 2009 she was awarded the research grant as a tutor at the Academy of Turin and in 2010 she won a triennialy workshop at the Ginkgo Contemporary Art Centre in Troyes, France. In 2011, she was among the artists selected by Vittorio Sgarbi for the Italian Pavilion of the 54th Venice Biennale. Some of her works belong to private collections in Europe, Asia, USA and public collections including the Imbersago Art Gallery Permanent Collection, the Gaeta Art Gallery Permanent Collection, the Miroglio Collection, the Savings Bank Foundation of Cuneo Permanent Collection, Villa Croce Art Museum Collection of Genova and the Gabinetto of ancient and modern etchings of Bagnacavallo. Anna lives and works in France since 2010.
