Britt M. is a photographer based in Oslo, Norway. A few years back, Britt faced a serious infection that suppressed her immune system and made her vulnerable to allergies that could be triggered by most of the things that surround us on a day by day basis. Due to the risks that socializing with people could entail while being in treatment, Britt turned to the Norwegian nature, taking long forest trips with her camera and discovering small abandoned cottages in the Scandinavian countryside that felt as lonely as she did at the time. That is how she developed what she describes as a serious addiction of capturing old abandonment and telling the stories of these homes left behind by time and society. While Britt’s good health is now back, she still keeps on documenting these abandoned homes that became her refuge during those difficult times. Her most beloved subject of photography however are themed portraits. With a background in film and drama studies Britt M. prefers to incorporate an underlying story or a feeling of posed tableau’s in her portraits.
