Break The Routine is a powerful short film directed by Noam Murro and created by JWT London and Biscuit Films for Victim Support and the National Centre for Domestic Violence (NCDV). The film captures the cycle of domestic violence as a couple illustrates both the physicality and mental anguish of abuse through a poignant dance routine, escalating over several moments before the cycle is finally broken. The haunting music is an original composition donated by Ellie Goulding. The direction of photography is by Ed Wild, the choreography is by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and the dancers are Jennifer White and Jason Kittelberger.
On average, high-risk victims live with domestic abuse for over two years before getting specialist help. The film powerfully demonstrates that there is a way out and encourages victims, or those that suspect they might know someone in an abusive relationship, to #breaktheroutine.
