David Sandell is a Stockholm based photographer, retoucher and CG artist working along with visual artist Oskar Vallinder at Depiction in Sweden. In early 2014 David got the idea to model a fictional apartment in 3D. The idea slowly developed from a modelling test, to a small animation, and on to what would be Depiction’s first short film. After two years of continuous animation, rendering, compositing, grading and sound production the film was finally finished during the spring of 2016. It premiered at the Swedish Short Film Festival in 2016 in Stockholm and won the prize for best animation. It was also selected to represent Sweden in the 2016 Unica International Short Film Festival held in Romania where it won the bronze in the category of Young Professional. The film was also screened at festivals all over the world, it was awarded Vimeo Staff Pick and it has been watched more than 200.000 times.
