The film is based on a true event in a diner ten years ago, in a small town outside San Francisco.
Will Mayo is an award-winning film director, cinematographer, sound designer and editor, originally from Thompson’s Station, Tennessee and based in Brooklyn, NY. Holding a bachelor’s degree in Film and Television Production from NYU, he has a diverse background in narrative, documentary, and experimental forms. The films he’s directed touch on intimate subjects like identity, mental illness, faith, and family. His work has been featured by Vimeo Staff Picks, io9, Kotaku, Out Magazine, and international film festivals picking up awards along the way. His latest short, As Beautiful Inside, is currently being submitted to festivals. Ian Scott McGregor is an actor, writer and producer from the Bay Area, CA who lives and works in Brooklyn. He has appeared in TV shows such as The 67th Annual Tony Awards, HBO’s Boardwalk Empire and VEEP, Comedy Central’s The Onion Sports Network, NBC’s Law & Order and many national commercials. Film-wise he has been in Magnolia Pictures’ The Brass Teapot, The Zodiac and The Lost Coast. He performed the voice and motion capture for “Cletus” in the fastest-selling video game in history, Grand Theft Auto V.
FIRST NIGHT OUT has been screened in more than 20 film festivals around the world and has won The Uncharted Filmmaker’s Grant at the 2016 NFFTY and Best Super Short at the 2016 The Art of Brooklyn Film Festival.
