Bobbie Burgers is a painter and sculptor from Vancouver, Canada. She received a B.A. in Art History from the University of Victoria and has studied in Aix-en-Provence, France. Painting in acrylics and known for her lush, vivid, large-scale floral depictions, Bobbie is one of Canada’s most celebrated and popular working artists. Her paintings posses strong, assured brushwork, a keen sense of colour and wild movement. Bobbie’s themes are inspired from nature, emotions, the fleeting nature of beauty and its inevitability to fade. Her work has been featured in multiple magazines and numerous gallery and museum exhibitions in Canada, USA and Sweden. She has been represented by the Bau-Xi Gallery for over a decade and enjoys a successful international career, having managed to sell every work she’s ever painted.
In her own words:
My need to condense and interpret the nature before me has been an obsession of mine since I began painting. I would not be able to travel without attempting to imprint my memories through paint.
